Our mission is to provide a venue for sharing a special part of New York culture - fresh, hand-made bagels & NY-style bakery products - delivered anywhere in the continental USA. Golden Bagels, Inc. is a family-owned business whose history began in the early 1920's when our great grandfather Tobias Weissman discovered the secret of freezing freshly baked or cooked foods. Back then, he was often the subject of ridicule by his peers. "What do we need frozen food for?" was often heard at his presentations. It was certainly a different world back then.
Unfortunately, peer pressure forced our great grandfather to give up his quest for innovation. Instead, he opened the first of many retail Grocery Stores. When I was a child, my great grandmother was always baking. I can still hear my cousins shouting “Grandma Ethel's apple cake, Grandma Ethel's apple cake.” Needless to say, we ate up every last crumb.
Today, as we bake bagels, cookies, breads, muffins or even GrandMa Ethel's apple cake, we endeavor to instill our family heritage within every item we produce. I wish that my great grandparents were alive to see what their family has accomplished. For the past fifteen years, we have been serving our customers with superior baked goods, and as a result we have been rewarded with extraordinary customer loyalty. In fact, so many customers that have left our area routinely ask us to send them their favorite treats, that this inspired us to offer our products on line.
